Getting Past The Christmas Burnout At Work
If you are feeling overwhelmed at work, you're in good company. The Christmas season is both the most wonderful time of the year, and the most stressful. A few helpful tips on beating the burnout, could get you to the end of the year, with your sanity in tact.
Can't sleep? Tired all the time? Becoming cynical about everything? Psychologists call those events, as burnout. You're putting in your "40" for the week, and worry about family, Christmas shopping, and New Years.
Experts remind us, there are ways to get through the day. One of the most effective ways to fix burnout, is taking some time off from work. A day, a week, or anytime you can point to on the calendar and know it's coming.
Take a break during the day. A good walk around the building or parking lot, will set those relaxing neurons firing. Plan a vacation that will guarantee a chance to relax and not think about work for a while.
This time of year is hard on everyone and if something will make you happier, look into it. You may need a new job, but career counselors suggest waiting until after the first of the year.
