I love Grey's Anatomy, it is one of my favorite shows.  In fact, I am on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happens to Meredith and Alex after they show left us with a huge cliff hanger 3 weeks ago.  However, the next time you think it is just a silly drama show, think about this story about a 10-year old Wisconsin girl and her 12-year old friend, saving her mothers life from something she learned off Grey's Anatomy.

According to WISN.com:

Kandace Seyferth had a severe asthma attack and collapsed at the bottom of the stairs and was unable to breathe Nov. 25. Her 10-year-old daughter Madisyn Kestell called 911 and then performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, while her 12-year-old friend, Katelynn Vreeke, pounded on her chest.

I know you cannot properly learn about CPR from a TV show but in this case this woman was saved because of what her daughter learned from the show.

If you or your family does not know how to preform CPR, you can find local classes here or here.
