Who's ready for a hike at Palo Duro Canyon State Park?

Flooding Had Caused All Trails To Be Closed

There's not much in our area that wasn't affected by the extreme amount of rain we received recently. Palo Duro Canyon had to close all of the trails due to the flooding.

Fortunately, the musical was still able to be held. You could also get inside the park and take in the view. There just wasn't much hiking to be done.

Now, some of those trails are open again.

What Trails Have Reopened In Palo Duro Canyon?

The Palo Duro Canyon State Park put out an update on social media regarding the closed trails. The good news is that now you can go and enjoy some of the trails at Palo Duro Canyon State park again.

The trails that have opened back up are Lighthouse, Capitol Peak, and CCC. It is recommended that you use extra caution on the trails if you decide to go for a hike, and especially if you plan on taking a bike.

Unfortunately, the announcement states that all other trails are still closed. Bummer.

Some of the camping areas are open again as well. For the areas still closed, it could still be a few days before they open again.

TEXAS the musical is still on.

Check out the post above for more info. The canyon has a special place in my heart, and I'm glad to see parts of it opening back up again. I just need a free morning sometime soon so I can get out and enjoy it.
