There's been a lot of good news recently when it comes to Covid-19 in Amarillo. Our city has been incredibly efficient at getting out the vaccine. Our numbers have been trending down. Our hospitalization rate is under 15 percent.

That last point means that things can start opening back up more, the city is rolling back some of the restrictions and guidelines put in place (the Governor's mask mandate is still in effect), and we can start looking forward to some carefully planned events.

"Night of Champions" pro-style amateur boxing hosted by Texas Elite Fight Club is scheduled for March 6.

All of the info available right now says that tickets will be limited once they're on sale, so you might want to keep an eye out for the minute they go live. It will be held at the Azteca Music Hall. You can find out more by using this link.

At the moment, there are 18 fights scheduled for that night.

Their Facebook page might be one of the best places to watch for ticket info, once it's made available.

Boxing isn't the only sport to look forward to this year if you're a sports fan. The Amarillo Bulls have announced that they will be allowing fans back in the stands at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex with masks and social distancing.

The Sod Poodles have been gearing up for the upcoming season. They've already opened up sign-ups for the Sod Pups Club, which I take as a good sign that we can expect baseball back at Hodgetown this year.
