It looks like Amarillo is bound and determined to not let 2020 rob us of a good time. We've seen some events cancel, but several more have popped up to take their place. Several annual traditions in Yellow City are still continuing on in the wildest year many of us have ever seen.

That includes Jazztober. Jazztober kicks off this week on Tuesday (10/6/2020) in its usual place; the Bivins Mansion.

The first group to perform at Jazztober this year will be The Martini's. Jazztober will continue every week, Tuesdays from 6 PM to 7:30 PM.

The flyer for Jazztober does mention social distancing. Nothing is mentioned about masks.

It is an outdoor event, and you are encouraged to bring your lawn chairs. The best part is that it's free. Just show up, hang out, and take in some music.

Even if you're not a fan of jazz, it's still nice to have a reason to get out of the house.

It's been an interesting fall so far. We've seen some Halloween events cancel, while new ones have popped up to take their place. The renaissance faire that is is scheduled has been getting a lot of buzz around town.

There's still the pumpkin farms, mazes, hay rides, and farm tours we've come to expect this time of year. Also, most of the Halloween attractions in town are open for business. There's also the announcements about pro wrestling being back in town.

Pretty much everything is at least asking that everyone keep social distancing in mind, but not everyone is requiring masks. I'd recommend checking websites and social media pages for events and organizations before you leave the house.
