What were you doing when you were 12 years old and growing up in Amarillo? You may have been going to school and maybe played a sport or two to pass the time. You hung out with family. It was probably pretty chill.

A Young Legend: Rylee Jo’s Eight Years on the Track

That is the life of a soon-to-be teenager. Unless you are Rylee Jo, who is the same twelve-year-old. Rylee Jo is a Junior 3 Outlaw Kart Driver and is entering her 8th year of racing. So right there, she has been racing since she was four years old.

Racing for a Reason: How RJO Racing Supports the Community

What also sets Rylee Jo apart is her big heart. Following her racing page, RJO Racing, it shows how much she has done already at this young age. Just recently, she was able to raise enough money to donate one thousand dollars to Make A Wish.

She collects toys at Christmas time to donate as part of an annual toy drive. This girl is always doing something. Again, she is just twelve. Now, she and her dad, Steven, are organizing a car show.

This is not their first time organizing the event. This year will be the 5th Annual Braggin' Rights Car Show. This is all to benefit Special Olympics. They will have a building full of cars to check out. There will also be vendors on site at the Happy State Bank Event Center on March 21.

Supporting Special Olympics: Where Your Donations Go

This is a free event, but donations are always accepted to help out Special Olympics. The vendor fee goes straight to Special Olympics as well. There will be a lot going on with the car show, vendors, food trucks, and fun.

The best part is that you will be helping this twelve-year-old accomplish even more and help even more people.

While most kids her age are just beginning to figure out their hobbies, Rylee Jo is already entering her eighth year of making a difference. Whether she’s behind the wheel of an Outlaw Kart or organizing a city-wide car show, her mission remains the same: leave things better than she found them.

Mark your calendars for the 5th Annual Braggin' Rights Car Show; it’s a chance to see some incredible rides, support the Special Olympics, and witness firsthand what happens when a big heart meets a fast lane.
