Free Food and Microchips: How the City of Canyon is Helping Pets Find Their Way Home

When it comes to families in the Amarillo area, we value our pets an awful lot. We love the fact that when we get home from a long day at work, they are anxiously awaiting our arrival.

It doesn't matter what kind of day we are having; seeing them all happy to see us always lifts our spirits. So, ensuring they are well taken care of is a top priority. We want to know they are safe.

We want to know that they are healthy. So we make sure from the very beginning that they have everything that they need. The City of Canyon is helping with our pets. They are hosting an event to help make sure our families' furry friends have food and can make it easier to be returned if lost.

This upcoming event is giving out both free food and microchips. So it is a win for everyone.

Canyon Animal Control is having a free dog food and microchip event on Saturday, January 31st, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Walmart. This will only be offered for the first 50 families or until supplies run out! We will help chip and register your pet. We ask that you bring only one pet per family so we can spread the love as much as possible. Make sure your four-legged friend is on a leash to avoid any craziness! We will also be happy to register any other pets you have in our database. This helps with reuniting lost pets with their owners. We hope to see you there.
