The Farewell Tour Starts Now: A Downtown “Go-To” is Shutting Its Doors for Good
When it comes to restaurants closing in Amarillo, we know that it is going to happen. We just prefer it to come with some warning. There is something genuinely nice about being able to say goodbye.
We love having that chance to go in at least one more time. Somehow, it doesn't seem to hurt so much that way. We will still go through the grieving process, especially if it's a place that we have visited a lot.

When I worked in downtown Amarillo, that was a go-to for a lot of us at work. It was close. We could call in an order and then go pick it up. Gooney's was always good, and they were always there.
That is about to no longer be the case. So take this time to get by and say your proper goodbyes. Get by to Gooney's and have a few more meals before they close their doors for good in June.
