Update: Ponto Gaucho Gives Us The Scoop On Their Hillside Grand Opening
Back in February, we found out who was moving into an empty building here in Amarillo. House Divided had closed right before Christmas last year. Since then, it has been sitting empty.
When they closed back in December, they promised us an exciting new concept was on the way; they just didn't tell us what it was. That was all that we were told. What could it be? That is what we wondered.

Then we found out. A Lubbock restaurant, Ponto Gaucho, was moving in. If you haven't heard of it, the concept is a Brazilian Steakhouse. Something that Amarillo doesn't have. We are all for it.

What Exactly Is a Brazilian Steakhouse?
Looking at the menu will make any meat lover's mouth water. Even if you don't eat a lot of meat, or any, they do have a salad bar that is unlike any other. You might think it is pricy but this is for all of the food that you can eat. The servers keep bringing more until you say stop, so you definitely want to come in with an empty stomach.
Recently, I got a text letting me know that this might be getting closer to opening.

I drove by after that and saw that countertops were going in. It had to be getting close, and I can't wait. So I decided to reach out to the restaurant to see if I could get an update. They were looking for it to open this summer.
The Opening Timeline: Updates From the Restaurant
I was hoping that we had an official opening date or something. When I heard back, we are indeed getting closer.
Thank you for reaching back! We're very excited, and we expect to open at the end of June or the beginning of July. We still don't have an official opening date yet.Looking forward to it! - Ponto Gaucho
