Hibachi In Your Backyard: Sakura Tokyo Takes The Show On The Road
It's not unusual in Amarillo to find a food truck you love, follow it, eat at it a lot, and then discover that they have since opened up a permanent home. That has happened several times to several food trucks.
It’s always a win when a local favorite finds success, especially when it gives us a permanent spot to grab our go-to meals. We recently had another success story that happened like that, but in reverse.
Bringing the Hibachi Experience Home
Amarillo's Tokyo Steakhouse & Sushi Bar had been located at 45th and Bell for many years in that shopping center with United Supermarket. Then they decided to make a move and take over the former Sakura location.
The "Gather Around Fire" Philosophy
That move has happened, and they even combined and took on the Sakura name as well to honor its legacy. Now they have decided to do even more. They’ve officially decided to take their experience on the road with the launch of Sakura Tokyo Mobile Hibachi.
Hi everyone — I’m one of the founders behind Sakura Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse here in Amarillo.
After more than 25 years in the restaurant industry, we’re incredibly excited to finally launch Sakura Tokyo Mobile Hibachi. For many years, families have celebrated birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and special moments with us inside our restaurant. Now, we’re bringing that same hibachi experience directly to your backyard, your home, and your events. But to us, hibachi has never only been about food.We believe the best moments happen when people gather together — around laughter, conversation, fire, and shared memories.
That’s what “Gather Around Fire” means to us.
