Just How Much Can You Spend On A Home In Amarillo?
They say it's all about location, and I'll say this... Amarillo just happens to be a hidden gem here in Texas. For the most part the weather isn't too extreme (pay no mind to that wild polar vortex last week....that was a freak of nature). Housing is affordable. The job market here is pretty good--especially the medical field, whoo!--and there is a lot of economic growth that's gained serious momentum with the infrastructure upgrades that include the new Loop 337 project and improvements to I-40.
With economic growth, comes a higher quality of life. This is clear when you consider the newly proposed civic center project and the completion of the multi-million dollar baseball stadium, Hodgetown, which opened in 2019 and has become a local point of pride since then.
Yes, our Yellow City is doing well for itself. Just how good? Well, look at it this way. if you've managed to get a decent job here and reached the status of 'well-to-do' (very likely if you're in the medical field...), you just might have the means to snag one of the fancy new homes we're seeing more and more of around here.
Our very awesome Digital Managing Editor, Sarah, recently sent me a link to this fine example of a home
Now, I'm no millionaire but look what you get!
You get 6,300+ square feet to stretch your legs with 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. By the way can we just get rid of the terms "half" and "three-quarter" bath terms? Maybe someone can come up with something better? Possibly?
Anyways, back to the house,
Take the street name... Valhalla... holy smokes... what more do you need to show off!? The name itself oozes excellence, as it was the place where all Viking warriors ascended to after a victorious death in battle. And for the $1.3 million price tag, you also get a 4-car garage and a separate wing of the house that boasts a kitchen, butler's pantry (whatever that is), a theatre and more.
Interested? Here's the listing and can I live with you?
But wait! We're just scratching the surface, with this den of luxury.
There are at least 15 other listings on Zillow that are in the "$1,000,000 or higher" club. Now... I'm all about going broke and I figure: why not just blow the bank?
And what would be THE house in Amarillo that could do just that?
Well... how bout this gem for a whopping $3.6 million? Go ahead. Click on that video below.....
I can't even go into the level of awesome here... but then again... dare to dream right?
