La Bella Pizza on Olsen has been a rich and much needed local business in Amarillo during the COVID-19 pandemic from the start.  Back when such daily necessities were hard to find as people hoarded local markets leaving bare shelves, La Bella owners Candy and Jim Dewitz  stepped and helped those in need.

La Bella on Olsen offered their free homemade Italian bread free of charge to anyone in need. Amarillo lined up and took their generous offer to heart.

"Free. It's really what we are trying to do,” Jim Dewitz said. “I'm not trying to make money off anyone. Just trying to feed people. I know there is a need for it. We're just trying to keep people a little more stable with their food needs and keep families full and little more comfortable."

La Bella on Olsen is now coming to those service industry workers who were displaced from Governor Abbott's closing of all Texas Bars last week. La Bella on Olsen is offering an all day and all night happy hour during regular business hours starting today.

“Our hearts go out to all the servers, bartenders, owners and employees during the re-shutdown and are extending our happy hour with one dollar off drafts and two dollar domestic bottles,” said Candy Dewitz. “We just wanted to do something to show our support, we know everyone was ready for the big weekend and then be told they have to shut down again. Everyone is just trying to make a living to pay their bills and feed their families,” she said.
