Looking for a Spot to Cool off After Pools Close? WTAMU’s Is Open
Pools have been a hot topic (no pun intended) this summer; namely, the Thompson Park Pool's continuous delays and eventual opening. Once the pools close at the end of summer, if you find yourself looking for a place to cool off, you have WTAMU to turn to.
Today, WTAMU put out a notification via their Rec Sports social media page that the pool is officially open. That means there's a chance you won't have to let pool season end.
According to the announcement, the pool is open not only to students but the community as well. There are guest passes available, but you'll need to get a member to take you. If you don't want to depend on your less-than-dependable friends to get you in, you can get a membership.
Students enrolled for summer classes have access. Fall students can either get a membership until the fall semester begins, or wait for the start of the semester for their membership to kick in.
This is good news if you spent most of your summer waiting for a pool to open, or didn't have a chance to go as much as you wanted. Sure it may cost you a little bit more, but it's a really nice facility and it's open no matter what the weather is like.
Recreational use of the facility is saved for late afternoon and evenings. Lap swim is available in the mornings and early afternoon.
