My Sort Of Baking Failure – Vanilla Wafers
E and I are huge fans of vanilla wafers, they are yummy and a easy snack to keep around the house. I have found memories of these little cookies as a child. So as we snacked on the last of our store bought vanilla wafers this weekend, I got the great idea of trying to make them from scratch.
My grandmother always kept them around her house. Instead of milk she always gave me a small glass of water to dunk them in (it may sound gross but it is actually really good). Looking back it was probably because they didn't have a whole lot of money and she was a cake decorator and had to use the milk for other things.
When most people thing of vanilla wafers, they think of the cookies in banana pudding. That would be correct.
So like I said, I got the great idea to try to make homemade vanilla wafers.
Well let's just say it didn't turn out the way I thought it would in my head.

I ended up with mini crunchy sugar cookies. Nothing close to vanilla wafers.
So if you have a recipe that will make true to store bought vanilla wafers please share ti with me.
