This year has seen several new businesses open up and has seen several reopen. When it comes to new businesses this year, it's a battle over coffee and gas. We've had several new coffee shops open up, and some get additional locations.

When it comes to places to fuel up, there are new players in the game and they're staking their claim.QuikTrip and Circle K both have opened new locations in Amarillo this year. Of course, there's the looming possibility that Buc-ee's could be opening later this year as well.

One of the biggest pieces of news this year was about a business opening that we all thought was possibly lost forever. Tascosa Drive-In shocked everyone when the announcement was made that new owners had been found, and they were planning on reopening the drive-in.

Cactus Cove and Western Horsemen opened this year, breathing new life into Amarillo staples. They held their grand opening and ribbon cutting back in June.
