Pancakes-The Simple Things In Life

Sunday morning, we slept in a bit since we were up late after going to church on Saturday and then spending some time with some church friends.  Ethan woke up and came and cuddled up with me in bed.

"Momma, I want some breakfast."  I said OK why don't we go get some breakfast.  "Donuts! Donuts! Donuts!" That kid loves his donuts.  I said no donuts, how about pancakes.  "Pancakes! Pancakes! Pancakes!

Well I had some yard work I needed to get done so I hopped outside and took care of that and by the time it was all said and done and we got cleaned up it was about 11am.  So we ended up going to brunch.

The restaurant of choice was Denny's.  Ethan got a baseball pancake and chocolate milk in a really cool cup.  I just went with an omelet and some coffee.

As we are sitting there enjoying our food.  Ethan looked at me and said, "Momma, this is really nice sitting here having breakfast with you.  I love you."

Who knew a simple baseball pancake would make a 5-year old sit back and realize he was enjoying one of the simple pleasures in life.

As a mom, that simple comment made me realize that life is so good and that I am truly blessed.
