So I was sitting in my recliner doing some work last night.  I had the TV on and  one of those prescription medication commercials came on.  All I remember hearing is blah, blah, blah this can kill you.

Medicine

I get that they have to include those warnings in the commercial, but when the list of side effects is longer than the benefits of the medicine then it seems to me that the medicine might not be that great.

I truly wonder how many doctors get requests from their patients for some of these medications.

"Side effect may include death." Yes!  I want that pill.

Not so much.

The companies that buy these commercials, must be "all I really need is a 30 second commercial, but I need a 60 second commercial to get all the side effects in."

I don't know about you, but in the beginning I think, "hey this is a wonder drug, it could help a lot of people", then the 30 seconds of side effect start to rattle off and I'm like, "who would take this?"  Side effects may include:

Cough.
Headache.
Dizziness.
Depressed mood.
Drowsiness.
Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, upset stomach, vomiting or diarrhea.
Skin symptoms such as mild itching or a rash.
unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness;
confusion, memory problems;
fever, unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine;
swelling, weight gain, urinating less than usual or not at all;

Yeah who needs that.

Anyway I just found that funny and crazy all at the same time.  What do you think about those drug commercials?
