When it comes to summer, the best place to be is in a swimming pool.

I may or may not have had a little fun with an article I previously posted about The Worst Towns to Live in the Texas Panhandle, mind you it was all in jest.  Someone may or may not have posted something on the lines, hey quit picking on the small towns.  Then someone said something about Sunray having a really cool swimming pool in their small town.

I did some research they do have a really neat swimming pool in their town.

It's called Treasure Island Water Park, and it's in the Treasure Island Park in Sunray, Texas

The pool is run by the City of Sunray.  The pool has two 20-foot water slides, plus the USS Bobcat pirate ship, also the Killer Whale Slide, an area for the little ones, and a deep end with a diving board.    It's the perfect place for the entire family to cool off in Sunray.

Where else in the Texas Panhandle are you going to find a pirate ship (besides Wonderland Park).  This is a fantastic quick trip to get out of town. If you're looking for a road trip with the family, you should make your way up to Sunray and go swimming at the Treasure Island Waterpark.  It's open Monday-Sunday, 12-2p Monday - Saturday and Sunday, 1-5 pm.  Admission is $4.

Sunray, Texas is 65 miles from Amarillo, which means it's about an hour drive give or take a few minutes.
