Texans Could Get Faster, Speed Limits Could Rise

It looks like speed limits in Texas are on the rise.  Right now, for me most of the highways/interstates I drive on are 70mph.  I just found out some of the highways are 80mps.  I personally haven't had the pleasure of driving on those highways.  However, a bill was just passed in the House of Representatives to raise the speed limit in Texas.

A bill passed in the state House of Representatives would raise the speed limit to 85 miles per hour on certain long stretches of road or designated lanes. The Senate is working on a similar proposal.

If the bill becomes a law, Texas will have the highest speed limit in the country.
