It's been talked about since I moved to Amarillo several years ago. It's something you see mentioned almost every time an announcement is made about a new restaurant coming to town. There's an elusive franchise that many in Amarillo seem to desperately want to see come to town.

It's the one restaurant we want, that Amarillo still doesn't have.

When Will Amarillo, Texas Finally Get A Cheesecake Factory?

As of right now, our chances don't look good. In all of the years that we've seen rumors circulate online, we've yet to see anything come of them. Every time a fresh pile of dirt shows up behind some chainlink fence, people start whispering, "Cheesecake Factory."

Unfortunately, it seems like you'd be best off not holding your breath.

Why You Shouldn't Get Your Hopes Up For A Cheesecake Factory In Amarillo

First, we have people in town who seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to new restaurants in the area. They know how to do the research and they know what to look for. If we were getting a Cheesecake Factory, I guarantee they would have already sounded the alarm.

Second, their website still doesn't have a single thing on it that would give anyone hope. You can see all of their locations, and Amarillo is still absent from that list. There's no "coming soon" or strange listing there to give you the idea that one is coming.

Sadly, it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Take it easy on the folks who are new to town and are used to spending their Sunday brunch at Cheesecake Factory. They haven't been around long enough to understand. Just kindly let them know that the rumors of it ever happening are just that, rumors. If they want some of the Factory, they need to head to Lubbock.
