Top 5 Budget Friendly Things to Do in Amarillo This Summer
Now that summer is here, so is the fun. We are super excited for all the great fun we'll have this summer and we live in a great city where we have so many fun things to do. So here's a great list of all the fun stuff going on in town that you can get out and enjoy.
The Discovery Center is learning disguised in fun. The kids and adults will have a blast checking out all the different exhibits and great shows in the Space Theater. Best of all, the Discovery is offering "Discover for a Dollar." One night a month this summer the Discovery Center will stay open late from 6-9pm and admission will be $1. The next night will be June 9th.
Cadillac Ranch
If you haven't been out to Cadillac Ranch, grab the family and some spray paint and go have some fun. Yes, a lot of tourists stop there, but it is also fun for locals to visit every now and then. Pick out your favorite colors of spray paint and get to painting one of those awesome planted Cadillacs.
Yes, Amarillo has a zoo and it is a fun zoo. Not only is it a great zoo, there are so many wonderful events they have all summer. However, best of all admission to the zoo is free on Mondays.
Picnic in Palo Duro Canyon
Grab some sandwiches and head on down to Palo Duro Canyon and enjoy the sights and nature. Admission is $5 for adults. Kids 12 and under free.
If you love trains and your kids love trains, then you need to visit the Amarillo Rail Museum. It's open Thursday 7:30pm to 9:30pm and 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each Month from 10am to 3pm.
