If you are wanting a rip roaring good time on Memorial Weekend then take the family out to Wonderland Park.    Wonderland Park is celebrating their 60th birthday this year, so if you haven't been out to the park in awhile then this is the perfect time to go. They have rides for the entire family.  Let the little one enjoy the Frog Hopper while you enjoy the Intimidator.  See the beautiful skyline of Amarillo as you ride the Rainbow, the Wonder Wheel, or the Sky Ride.  Spin yourself silly on the Himalaya, Tilt-A-Whirl or the Scrambler.  Feeling brave take on the double loops on the Texas Tornado or take a ride on the Fantastic Journey, you'll go in but you may not come out.  A word of warning, watch out for the bus.  If it ends up being a hot day then you are going to want to Shoot the Shoot, take a ride down the Pipeline Plunge, or the log ride.  If you find you are not adventurous as the rest of the family and the rides scare you, not to worry you can play a round of miniature gold at Wonderland's at an additional cost.  The entire family will have a blast!  As an added bonus pack a picnic and have lunch in Thompson Park before heading into Wonderland Park.

5. Top Things To Do This Memorial Day Weekend - Your Own Backyard

One of our family traditions is a Memorial Weekend BBQ.  We invite all our family and friends over and we cook up some grub.  Sometimes we take it easy and cook hot dogs and hamburgers.  Other times we go all out and smoke up some brisket and ribs, then we stuff some jalapenos and throw them on the grill.  We ice down some beverages then get the ice cream maker moving.  It is the perfect plan for this long weekend.

The great thing about spending Memorial Weekend in your backyard is you don't have to drive anywhere and you have all the comforts of home.

Cost: nothing, unless you count the price of groceries.
