City Of Amarillo: What Is Open And Closed For Memorial Day

Memorial Day is this upcoming Monday. It's a time to remember the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice; who have died while serving in the armed forces.

In honor of those men and women, and Memorial Day, the City will be closing offices for the day.

Here Is What Will Be Closed On Memorial Day

If you're hoping to check out a book, you'll be out of luck. Need to visit the brush site? No luck there either. Here's a quick list of what the City said, via press release, that will be closed:

• City Hall
• Amarillo City Transit
• Amarillo Public Library System
• City Landfill
• City Brush Sites

So, it sounds like if you have a book to return or some business to take care of with the city you need to get it done by Friday.

Solid Waste will run residential routes on Tuesday and Wednesday. Commercial routes will be ran on Tuesday.

Here Is What Will Be Open On Memorial Day

In the press release from the City, it wasn't only about what will be closed. They also mentioned what will be open for Memorial Day. If you like golf or swimming, you're in luck.

All City of Amarillo golf complexes will be open. That's Ross Rogers and Comanche Trail. Also, there are two City of Amarillo pools that will be open for the long weekend.

The Southeast Pool will be open from noon to 6 PM. The famous Thompson Park Pool will be open as well. You can swim at the Thompson Park Pool from noon to 3 PM, and then from 4 PM to 7 PM.
