The fire was located near 24th and Brixton.  The call was received at 7:41 am and the first unit arrived on location at 7:45am.  The trailer house was on fire and fully engulfed.  The fire was starting to spread to other trailers near the home.   Amarillo firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading, and had the fire extinguished by 8:21am.  The AFD found two deceased bodies in the home.

The identity of the deceased has not been revealed, nor has the cause of the fire been released.  The Fire Marshal's Office is currently working with the Amarillo Police Department to investigate.

What is going on in Amarillo lately?

This is one more incident to add to the start of the new year and Amarillo's death toll.   Unfortunately, if this turns out to be a crime, that would mean Amarillo has seen 4 deaths due to homicide in a month.  But as stated above the cause of the fire hasn't been determined or it hasn't been released.

Let's hope that February is a turn around for Amarillo and we'll see all this craziness stop.  Fingers crossed that 2022 will end up being a really wonderful year.

Amarillo needs to see more growth, and happiness instead of shootings, fires and all the craziness.

We live in a great city, we have wonderful neighbors.  Let's just hope that this fire was an accident and these deaths were accidental.

Do you think crime will increase throughout the year, or it will level out as we enter February?
