What Makes Texas Have One Of The “Worst Smiles” In The Nation?
Teeth are important. None of us would argue against that; at least I think not. We need them to chew our food. We need them to be there when we smile. Our teeth are more than just little white dangling "things" hanging around in our mouths.
So what makes Texas have one of the "worst smiles" in the nation?
The folks at Flourish have supposedly found the answer to that question. They crunched the numbers, did the research, and might have even conducted a survey or two. What they found out placed us at 40th in the nation.
That's out of 50 states, by the way. Just in case you were wondering.
That's not good; not good at all. So, how exactly did we wind up so far down the list?
For starters, only a tiny bit more than half of us have been to a dentist or dental clinic in the past year. Hard to have an affection-snagging grin if you don't go see the dentist.
There's roughly 67% of us Texans that feel our mouths are in great condition. Maybe that's why we can't be bothered to go to the dentist.
Less than half of us, 41%, said that the condition of our mouths has impacted the quality of life we experience negatively. I suppose this 41% is the portion of the populace that should go see a dentist and quit hanging out with the people from the other question.
You can see the entire study by following this link. It's an interesting read.
Maybe brush, or floss, while you give it a glance. Just to be on the safe side.
