If there's one thing you can be sure of in Amarillo, Texas, it's that there's construction going on. From roads to buildings, there's always work being done in the city.

When you head out to the airport in Amarillo, you'll soon start noticing even more construction happening. A new construction project is starting there in August, and it will take some time to complete.

This new project is an aircraft paint hangar and storage building. International Aerospace Coatings will be moving in next to the airport, and there's a lot of work to be done.

What You Should Know About the New Construction Project

Fortunately, it appears that this construction project will not significantly interfere with reaching Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport. The City of Amarillo has posted a map on its website detailing what to expect.

One of the things you can expect is construction taking a while to complete. It won't be finished until the middle of next year.

Timeline & Existing Loop‑Road Improvements

The construction project will begin on August 14, 2025. The date that the project is estimated to be finished is June 22, 2026.

According to the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport website, they are still in phase 2 of the four-phase parking and loop road reconstruction project. So, even though this new project may not impact your trip to the airport, there will still be things you need to keep an eye out for.
