Honestly, it's a bit of a mixed bag. While this is going to eventually make commuting in one part of town easier and safer, there is of course going to be the headaches that come along with construction. So, be on the look out for that.

Amarillo's getting a new railroad overpass. Honestly, this is great news.

Where Is The New Overpass Going To Be Built In Amarillo?

The overpass is going to go up in Eastridge, on N.E. 24th. According to a press release, and a post on social media, the overpass is going to have bike lanes and sidewalks. It will be four lanes.

The best part? Uninterrupted commutes.

Honestly, how can mad can you be about not getting stuck behind those trains? Spoiler alert: not very.

Of Course, Not Everyone Is Happy About It

As you would expect, there are those who aren't excited about the news. For the most part, it's people who are getting stuck waiting for trains in other places in town.

I can sympathize. There are plenty of areas in town where something like this would be more than appreciated. Hopefully, those will be seeing their own overpass eventually.

According to the press release, this overpass was a high priority item in the Eastridge Neighborhood Plan.

When Will The Work Begin?

The press release and announcement made today was about the funding for the project. A huge chunk of it actually came from a federal program called Railroad Crossing Elimination.

What's in a name. Everything you need to know apparently.

No date was given in the press release on when the construction of the overpass would begin. I can't imagine it will be too long before work gets started.

Google Answers the Top 10 Questions About Amarillo

I love Google. It can literally answer ANYTHING you need it to answer. Whether it's right or wrong is a totally different question.

Recently, I found myself wondering about something and went to Google. And that's when I started noticing the "people also asked..." section and BOY...Some of them made perfect sense, some of them were interesting, and one of them was downright baffling...and it was a top 10 question which is even more absurd.

So let's see what we've got. Here's the top 10 questions as asked to Google about Amarillo.

Amarillo Landmarks: Negative Yelp Reviews

Yelp can be a strange and angry place. That's what I found out recently when I decided to sort the reviews by "lowest rating" first.

I was okay with the people upset over bad service and what not. But I came across a few reviews that, for lack of a better word, left me speechless in their scathing negative reviews on some of Amarillo's most iconic places. Prepare your self for plenty of head shaking and "I dunno" shrugs.
