UFOs have a way of capturing the imagination. They spark fear, excitement, wonder, and curiosity in those who witness or come into contact with them. The idea that we're not alone in the universe and are being watched has captivated humanity for eons.

Amarillo, Texas, is no stranger to these strange unidentified objects in the sky. Sometimes they hover, appearing to be watching the world below. Other times, they jolt across the sky in ways that defy physics.

Breaking Down Amarillo’s 10 Most Recent UFO Reports

Amarillo has had a total of 10 reported sightings since 2020, according to data on the National UFO Reporting Center. The National UFO Reporting Center collects and stores information regarding unidentified flying objects and unidentified aerial phenomena.

The data can be sorted and viewed as a table cataloging sightings across all 50 states, and even the world. It can also be viewed as an interactive globe showing where sightings are most highly concentrated.

2020 to 2022: Hovering Disks and Starlink Confusion in Amarillo

In 2020, Amarillo had three reported sightings on the NUFORC website. One of those reports was regarding a bright reflective disk that was seen hovering above airplane traffic.

Another report mentioned four lights in the morning sky, while another mentioned a string of lights flying through the night sky. The string of lights could be explained as Starlink satellites passing over the region.

2021 only had one reported sighting in the database. It is a report that sounds similar to a previous one from 2020.

The only report that year was of a string of lights in the sky. Once again, it seems that Starlink satellites are the culprit. I've seen them myself, and it can be a bit jarring if you aren't expecting it. I was at Lake Meredith when I got to watch them fly overhead.

Only two reported sightings were listed for 2022 in Amarillo. One of them was a single "dot of light" that streaked across the sky. The other one is a bit more intense.

According to the report, on October 28, 2022, a person was looking above their apartment complex when they got the shock of a lifetime. What is referred to as a "light phenomenon" was spotted moving in a circle.

2023: Hovering Crafts, Bright Lights, and Fast Flyers

In 2023, there were three reported sightings. They took place in late summer and early fall that year, spanning one sighting per month over three months from August through October.

In August, an individual claims to have been outside on a smoke break when they noticed something in the sky. It was a circular "craft" hovering in the air, and was joined by a second craft.

September saw a second sighting of a circular craft. This time, it was described as a bright light the individual saw while driving.

In October, the reported sighting wasn't of a circular craft or bright light. This time, it was multiple "crafts." According to the report, there were a total of three lights in the sky. These lights faded in and out, all while moving at a high rate of speed.

2024: The Most Bizarre Report in Amarillo Yet

The most recent report on file for Amarillo came in March of 2024. It is the most detailed of the recent reports, and it describes something that would boggle the mind.

According to the report, the person saw a glowing light moving slowly across the sky. Then, what they describe only as an apparatus extends from the craft. This only lasted a few seconds before it completely disappeared.

Are there visitors from another galaxy visiting Amarillo, Texas? Are we alone in the universe? Only time will tell.
