Amarillo’s Pop Culture Convention, Ama-Con, Kicks Off This Week
It's hard to believe it's already, August. That means it's time for Ama-Con.
Ama-Con is hailed as "Amarillo's original Pop Culture convention." It is two full days of panels with special guests, tons of vendors, screenings, and cosplay.
There's even "Geek Prom" Saturday night.
Ama-Con kicks on this Saturday, August 3rd. It wraps up Sunday, August 4th. It will be held at the Amarillo Civic Center.
Best selling authors, animators, and voice actors are scheduled to make appearances.
This year, one of the big surprises is a DeLorean, like the one from Back To The Future, making an appearance. It's outfitted with all the time travel tech you would expect, and you will be able to get your photos screaming, "Great Scott!"
There are local and regional artists who will be having booths as well, including comic book writers/artists from our area.
You can find the complete schedule by following THIS link. Tickets are $5 for a one day pass; $8 for a two day pass.
