On the most recent episode of "2 Bears, 1 Cave," Amarillo's Sod Poodles got a little time in the spotlight. In fact the entire episode. They sat proudly on Bert's head.

The podcast "2 Bears, 1 Cave" is done with Tom Segura, and is becoming one of my favorites. It's great if you're just needing to chill out and have a few laughs.

Bert is also becoming one of my favorite comics. He's the personification of that college buddy you had that would always be the life of the party. Which is appropriate considering Bert was named the top party guy at the top party college in the nation while in college. In fact, he was the basis for the film 'National Lampoon's Van Wilder.'

He's also been a guest on The Big Show with John Boy & Billy.

It's nice seeing the Sod Poodles getting a little attention that doesn't include the scuttled season this year.

The announcement came last month from the MLB that they would not be supplying Minor League teams this year, meaning the Sod Poodles' season had been officially shelved until 2021. So we have to wait a year to see the Soddies play, and to get our All-Star game.

We're still in the running to be the best Double-A ballpark in Ballpark Digest's poll. You can vote for Hodgetown HERE.

There's still ball being played at Hodgetown this summer. The Texas Collegiate League is in town. We're hosting two teams for the season.

They're off to a great start, and if you're wanting to make a trip to the field in downtown Amarillo, check out the Sod Poodles website for tickets and schedules.
