Don’t Get Your Hopes Up But The New Year May Just Bring Us Snow in Amarillo
Let's face it, it's drier than dry in this area. The dirt has been blowing like crazy and the crops just don't look good and that's because we haven't had any rain or moisture for that matter since October. We need it. We need it bad.
I don't exactly want to get your hopes up, but, we just might see some snow for the New Year. I'm not a fan of snow and cold, but I'm tired of eating dirt every time I walk out the door. When I heard the forecast this morning, I found myself getting super excited.
Amarillo usually gets nearly 18 inches of snow yearly. Although we have come close to reaching the average, all that snow was early 2021.
According to our friends from ABC 7 Amarillo we have an artic blast coming our way that has a possibility of brining snow.
Things could change, you know how weather in the Panhandle can be, but wouldn't it be a wonderful sight to see the fluffy stuff on the ground, and the ground taking a big drink.
I can't be the only one wishing for some moisture and some winter weather. My family received some warm weather wear over the holidays and it sure would be fun to actually get to wear it.
Although we are only looking at about a 20% chance of moisture my fingers crossed we get some snow, and if we don't get snow, then let's home we get rain.
Come on New Year's Day, bring us some snow or rain for the new year.
