Father's Day is this weekend, and it can seem tough trying to find things to do in Amarillo, Texas, to celebrate dad. Fortunately, several things are happening in town just in time for the big day.

If you want to get the old man out of the house, several events are lined up this weekend. Some are on Father's Day, while others are scattered throughout the weekend.

Free Rides for Dad at Wonderland Park

Wonderland Park in Amarillo will be celebrating Father's Day this year. They will be celebrating by letting dads ride free all weekend long.

Don’t Miss the Route 66 Finale

While not technically a Father's Day event, the Route 66 Festival will be wrapping up on Saturday, June 14, with the massive finale. It's a giant party on 6th Street, and it includes live music, a car show, food, and all kinds of events. Admission is free.

Honestly, it's one of my favorite events of the year, and it's my favorite part of the Route 66 Festival. You can find out more on the Visit Amarillo website.

Sunday Events to Celebrate Dad

Other events include the Tripp's Harley-Davidson Father's Day event on Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM. There will be prizes and giveaways during the event.

Hodgetown will be busy since the Sod Poodles are having a Father's Day game this year. They'll be giving away grill sets to the first 1,500 people through the gate in honor of Dad.

You can get all of the information on the Sod Poodles official website.
