Fifth Harmony Address Their Eventual Breakup in New Interview
Another day, another Fifth Harmony breakup rumor. But this time things are a bit more peculiar: The person fanning the flames is member Dinah Jane Hansen.
Stumbling through a bout of pregnant pauses, Dinah said in a recent interview that the group's been doing some serious reflecting on their brief time together in the spotlight. That's fair enough -- they were thrust together as strangers and then forced into the spotlight, making for a whirlwind past few years.
Punctuating most sentences with a metaphorical question mark, Dinah began:“We’ve been together for basically three years now and looking back….we’re very, very…happy with where we’re at right now? But from here on out we wanna hopefully win a couple more awards together...maybe build more music together as well?"
Sure, there's no shame in hoping to someday win a Grammy or a second YouTube Music Award. But then Dinah dropped a bombshell on everyone when she casually said, "But I feel like we’ll probably go our separate ways later on."
What's more worrisome is this isn't the first time Fifth Harmony's alluded to a future breakup. The group last sent fans into major meltdown mode back in September, when Camila Cabello gave a frank answer about the group’s future.
Speaking with Latina magazine she said, "We’d be lying if we all said this is a picture-perfect thing, like we all completely agreed on the album track list and what the sound and the music video treatment would be like, which usually happens in bands who grew up together. But for manufactured bands, it’s harder.”
Member Lauren Jauregui then did some damage control, assuring fans that Fifth Harmony were in it for the long haul. But Dinah's latest admission has us wondering whether a Fifth Harmony breakup is coming sooner than we think.
