Of course this year everything is looking different. Things that we are used to are not there like they have been in the past. Thanks a lot covid. That doesn't mean that the need goes away. So this year the Amarillo Fire Department has decided to take it virtual.

They still need and want to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Just because covid is here doesn't mean that this changes. Every day children are born with muscular dystrophy and adults are diagnosed with ALS and other life-threatening diseases that take away their most basic freedoms - like walking, talking, eating, hugging, and ultimately life itself.

So this is where the Amarillo Fire Department is asking you to take it online. As of yesterday this is what they said on their Facebook:

Just a reminder: we can't stand on the corner and collect donations for MDA this year so we're doing a virtual "Fill the Boot". So far, we only have $135. Please give if you can. All proceeds stay in the panhandle. THANKS!!!

Until I saw that post I didn't know this was going on. So they just need to get the word out. So feel free to share this all over Facebook. All the money stays here in the Panhandle. Isn't that what you want?

So donate today HERE. Help Fill the Boot right here in the Texas Panhandle.
