Free Camp Discovery for AISD Students Start Next Week
Summer Camps have always been a highlight growing up. The memories you make with friends. You may still be looking for options this year and AISD along with the Discovery Center are helping to make this a no brainer.
They are working together to offer FREE summer camps for students in the Amarillo Independent School District. Yes, free. There are three campuses that you choose from to register. You don't have to attend any of these schools. Again these camps are for all AISD students from first grade through 6th grade.

The campuses to choose from to register are Carver Elementary, Humphrey's Highland Elementary and Southlawn Elementary. There will be lots of fun activities and also field trips to Wildcat Bluff Nature Center and the Discovery Center.
The camps are free but if you need early drop off, between 7:45am and 9am or after care from 4pm - 5:15pm that part will cost you extra.
The themes of the camps sound like a lot of fun.
- June 7th - 11th Oceanography: Exploring the creatures of the deep sea
- June 14th - 18th Space: You can investigate the new frontier
- June 21st - 25th Zoology: You can learn about reptiles, mammals and insects. Discover animals far and wide
- June 28th - July 2nd Science of Superheroes: You can uncover the science behind what makes a superhero so super
These camps will provide your child with a breakfast, lunch and a snack. You need to make sure you send a water bottle with you camper each and every day.
So definitely something to look into for you child. Just don't wait. These are first come first served and will fill up fast. Get your child registered HERE.
