Amarillo Independent School District

The Amarillo area has a number of school districts. These districts do their best to keep our kids in line. They work on keeping them educated. They have the task of disciplining them without disciplining them.

I have spent many days walking the halls of Wolflin Elementary School. That is where my daughter went to school and where I was the yearbook staff for many years. I miss those much simpler times.

I am not even against the school fundraisers. I know that the schools need them for various things. I used to bring the stuff up to work to have my friends buy from my daughter. I apologize for tor this. I really do.

I remember driving by one day and noticing the Hastings Distribution Center was gone. I had heard about this place that Amarillo Independent School District was putting up. I didn't know much about it.

It seems like every election season people get on Facebook and spew all kinds of lies. They want everyone to freak out about how much our taxes are going to go up if we vote for a certain proposition.

I remember at an early age having to lie. OK, it was a good lie I believe. I don't even know why it was important. I was young. Ask me how old I was? Depends on where I was.

If your travels around Amarillo has taken you down Plains Blvd you no doubt have noticed the transformation happening at the former Hastings Distribution Center.

We do have some great schools here in our area. We have many great school districts to choose from too. If you are looking to move your kiddos from one district another now is the time to make decisions about the next school year.

This is a struggle year after year. If you can save your vacation time for during the Christmas season, great. If you can't you have to decide what to do with the kiddos when they are out of school.

They say everyone is hiring these days and that may be true. Looking for good quality jobs is really what you are wanting. Well Amarillo Independent School District has a lot of positions open that you may be interested in.

Earlier Canyon Independent School District came out and said they needed more substitute teachers and the best way to get them? Increase their pay. I mean that is a win win situation. It makes it easier to find qualified people and they will make more money.
