New Years is upon us and most everyone makes New Year's Resolutions.  What if a city could make New Year's Resolutions?  What would they be?  Here's what Amarillo's New Year's Resolutions for 2022.

To Finish All the Construction Early

There is construction around every corner.  Wouldn't it be great if they could finish all of the construction early.

Find a Happy Medium with the Citizens of Amarillo and the City Leaders

Let's face it, Amarillo has a love/hate relationship with City leaders.  Half of Amarillo loves what they are doing, the other half hates every decision they make. Yes we need a new Civic Center, but a better plan.  Yes, City Hall needs updated, but a better plan.

To Behave and Stop the Crime, Killing and Shooting Sprees

Amarillo has had a huge influx of crime this year, from the massive amounts of shootings, to burglaries.

Stop Drinking and Driving

Amarillo has lost a lot of lives due to drinking and driving.

To Get Fatter

While most have a resolution to lose weight Amarillo should get fatter, we need more businesses coming into town helping us grow, Buc-cees, HEB (anyone?).

Keep the Clothes On

I mean, let's face it, people have lost clothes in Downtown Amarillo.

Focus on All Areas of Amarillo

We have seen a great boom to downtown, now let's focus on the areas north of Downtown.

Keep Bringing Awesome Celebrities into Town

Amarillo brought us Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and of course Sam Elliot, and it wants to bring in more.

Start to Recycle

We don't really have a recycling program in town.  This would be a great year to start!

Drink More Water and Moisturize More

We haven't had any moisture in months and we really need it.  The farmers and ranchers need the rain and we need the dirt to go away.

Just a few resolutions our good city of Amarillo would have if it made a list for New Years.

Say You're From Amarillo Without Saying You're From Amarillo

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.

Here's a couple of ways you can say you're from Amarillo.....without saying you're from Amarillo.

Google Answers the Top 10 Questions About Amarillo

I love Google. It can literally answer ANYTHING you need it to answer. Whether it's right or wrong is a totally different question.

Recently, I found myself wondering about something and went to Google. And that's when I started noticing the "people also asked..." section and BOY...Some of them made perfect sense, some of them were interesting, and one of them was downright baffling...and it was a top 10 question which is even more absurd.

So let's see what we've got. Here's the top 10 questions as asked to Google about Amarillo.
