During the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic Logan’s Roadhouse closed its doors and didn’t offer take out like many other Amarillo restaurants did, which led to speculation the restaurant was closing permanently. The parent company of Logan’s Roadhouse, Craftworks closed all of their 261 restaurant locations and furloughed nearly 18,000 employees. Furloughed workers were told that the restaurants may not reopen.

Today Amarillo Logan’s Roadhouse General Manager Christine Hargrove confirmed to me by telephone that the I40 location will reopen Monday June 15 at 11:30 AM.  Logan’s Roadhouse will close at 8 PM weekdays and 9 PM Fridays and Saturdays. Hargrove also stated that most employees were retained and will be returning to the location. Logan’s Roadhouse is also looking to hire new employees and interested applicants should stop in and apply.

Personally I’m excited to enjoy their great prices and peanuts again. Not to mention the rolls and 29 degree cold brews.

Here are more of the meat and potatoes of what has happened with Logan’s Roadhouse. Last month Logan’s Roadhouse was sold to its main lender for $93 million.

A U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge in Delaware approved the planned purchase of Craftworks by a unit of New York Fortress Investment Group the same investment firm that is paying $48 million to buy Krystal, the fast food company out of bankruptcy. The deal was finalized after Craftworks investment bankers couldn’t find any other interested bidders among the 287 parties they had contacted since before the company filed for Chapter 11.

In a statement at the time of the bankruptcy filing, CEO Hazem Ouf said on the Craftworks website: "Our goal is for Craftworks Holdings to emerge with a strengthened balance sheet and a further optimized real estate portfolio that will allow us to execute on our growth strategy, compete more effectively in the casual dining environment in areas in which we have a proven track record of success."
