Don’t Miss Out When Amarillo Celebrates Independence Day + 1 on July 5
The Fourth of July in the Texas Panhandle is always a busy time. There are plenty of celebrations and fireworks shows to choose from. In Amarillo, though, things are done a little differently.
Instead of having a celebration on the fourth of July, like everyone else, Amarillo has its giant party on July 5. It's called Independence Day + 1, and it's going to be huge this year.
The event will be held at John Stiff Park. It's free to attend and is open to the public. There is a lot of food, music, games, and fireworks planned.

Start Time & What To Expect
It all starts at 3 PM in Amarillo, when the parking lots at John Stiff Park open. There will also be shuttle service from Amarillo High and Randall High. At 3:30 PM, the festivities begin.
The Kid Zone, Beer Garden, and Eat Street open at that time. There is a massive list of food trucks that are going to be on hand for the event. A cornhole tournament kicks off at 4 PM along with the first band of the night.
Music Lineup, Cornhole & Evening Highlights
Live music starts at 4 PM and wraps up with Cooder Graw at 8:30 PM. The fireworks and drone show start at 9:45 PM. It's an entire evening stacked with plenty to do for the whole family.
