I love this time of year, it is the spooky season and I love how people come together including vampires to help a great cause.

Ok, I'm kidding about the vampires, but the Coffee Memorial Blood Center is needing your help.  They want your blood.  Better yet, they want you to come and donate your blood to help save a life.

“Vein Drain is all about having fun with Halloween, but the reality is, every two seconds someone needs blood to survive,” said John Armitage, President, and CEO of Coffee Memorial Blood Center. “With an hour of your time, you can save the lives of up to three patients facing trauma or ongoing treatment at our local hospitals.”

Their annual Vein Drain is back and here's how you can help out during the month of October.

Donate Blood - you can donate at the Coffee Memorial Blood Center or at a mobile blood drive.

If you successfully give blood you will receive you will get a really cool limited-edition, glow-in-in-the-dark “Save A Vampire” t-shirt, and one free ticket to 6th Street Massacre Haunted House!

To schedule an appointment you can visit yourbloodinstitute.org or call 806-331-
8833.  It will take about an hour to donate blood.  Your donation can save up to 3 lives.

It's that simple,  have your veins drained, get a cool spooky t-shirt and have the life scared out of you at the 6th Street Massacre.

It's a great way to give back during the spooky season.  You can always tell your friends later that you got your veins drained and saved a vampire.

Freaky Flicks: These Are Our Top Halloween Movie Picks

It's Halloween season, and along with the pumpkins and candy comes an opportunity to binge watch some scary movies. They're not hard to find this time of year for sure. Just about every streaming service out there has a category dedicated to horror movies.

What is hard to find is a really good horror movie - one that gets the heart racing and really puts a good scare in you.

Here are a few that you may have forgotten about that are perfect for this time of year.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
