This weekend, October 15th and 16th, it's the Nostalgia Nationals at Amarillo Dragway.

Remember that line from "The Fast & The Furious" when Vin Diesel says, "I live my life one quarter mile at a time"? Well, these racers actually live by that credo.

The thing that separates dragsters from other race cars are the sheer veracity of them. The tires that spin and squeal off the line. How quickly they get to top speed and just the sheer noise of these monsters. Your body will shake, rattle and roll as these cars jump off the line and head down the strip.

The Outlaw Injected All Stars will be on display this weekend in Amarillo. Everything from funny cars (and yes, they do look funny), altered race cars and the ever popular dragsters will be racing out at Amarillo Dragway.

One of the cooler things about these races is that every ticket doubles up as a pit pass. What's a pit pass you ask? Well it's what it sounds like, you can go down into the pit area and get a close up look at the cars for yourself. They're amazing pieces of machinery and I can't wait to take my kids to it.

Oh yeah, it's a totally family friendly event and something the kids will never forget. It doesn't hurt that there are fireworks shows both nights of the events. I mean, who doesn't love fireworks?

So come on out and check out a little drag racing. I promise it won't let you down. See ya there!
