The foods we eat during the Super Bowl tends to not be very diet friendly. I am trying to eat healthy and do decent during our Weight Loss Challenge. So what can I do?

Well I decided to start a new tradition with the foods I cook during the Super Bowl! Next to Thanksgiving Super Bowl Sunday is the next biggest food day! We tend to think about nachos, wings, chips and guacamole to name a few items. Of course that means that the calories just add up.

So I don't want to blow all the hard work I have done so far to lose about 10 pounds just to gain it back over a football game.

So what do I decide to do? I do make guacamole but we bought wheat thins to eat it with. So it's not so bad.

But there are no wings or nachos at my table. I opt to do a seafood boil. I get crab legs, crawfish, shrimp, mussels and clams. Oh and I throw in a few lobster tails too. Seafood is very healthy. I throw in the corn and potatoes but that is really more for my daughter. Oh and she eats the butter too. I don't.

So just because the Super Bowl is a calorie infested kind of day. I didn't have to worry about my waistline but I also got to eat some delicious foods. I think this is a tradition I can stand behind. Diet season and all!
