Need Quick Holiday Money? Here Are 3 Ways To Get It In Amarillo.
It's no secret that a lot of people are feeling a bit of a financial crunch this holiday season. Let's say you find yourself in a situation where you need a little extra cash for the holidays.
Here are some ways to scrounge up a little extra holiday cash in Amarillo this year.
Take Stock, And Sell Some Stuff
Most of us aren't living a minimalist lifestyle. I'm sure if we all took stock, there would be plenty of stuff we could sell to bring in some extra cash.
There are a lot of places you post items online that are for sale. Most of them we're all familiar with. There's the Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Craigslist; and that's just to name a few.
While this may not have the quickest turn around (I know someone who has been trying to sell a dryer for six months), it's an option.
There are several pawn shops in the area too. If you need quick cash and have something of value that isn't valuable to you anymore, this could be a way to go.
You Could Always Donate Plasma
Most plasma centers have big offers for new donors. I was getting $100 each time I donated for my first month. You get the money instantly, which is awfully nice.
However, you need to be able to handle big needles. You also need around an hour and a half to get the job done. Also, you have to be able to deal with people awkwardly looking around with tubes coming out of them while they wait for their donation to finish.
I made awkward eye contact more than once. It was...awkward.
There are multiple centers where you can donate in Amarillo.
You also need to feel okay with the idea of selling parts of yourself for money. I've run into a few people who get up in arms over the idea of selling your plasma, which is basically what you're doing.
If you're comfortable trading your plasma for cash, then go get that cha-ching. If you're not, you can rake leaves, mow lawns, or whatever else you want to do.
Gig Work
While some of the payouts won't be instant, there is the chance to pick up some extra cash doing gig work. I've had several friends that will drive for Uber or Lyft around the holidays. Another friend of mine swears by DoorDash.
They all made decent amounts of cash doing it.
There are a ton of apps and services now that will allow you to pick up some extra cash on your own time.
Just know that the initial payout may not be immediate. Some companies have a waiting period, or payments take a number of business days to process.
The allure here is being able to do make the dough when you have time. The downside? There are a lot of other people who have had the same idea.
