Growing up, I would travel from Oklahoma to Texas in the summer to visit Six Flags. Sure, we had our own theme parks but they didn't have that dancing bald guy and my favorite cartoon characters. In 2026, roles may reverse. We'll all be traveling to Oklahoma for more than just the gambling.

There's a Disneyland-sized theme park coming to Oklahoma.

Oklahoma's Americana-Themed Theme Park The Size Of Disneyland

The theme park, which is named American Heartland, is going to be massive. It's a 1,000-acre development featuring a 125-acre theme park. The theme park is going to take on an Americana theme featuring locations like Liberty Village, Great Plains, Bayou Bay, Big Timber Falls, and others. When I saw the word "Americana", I instantly heard banjos playing. I'm sure there will be banjos, but the word isn't being used to mean the popular music genre.

The entire park is meant to celebrate America's culture and heritage. From the Liberty Bell in Liberty Village to the futuristic Electropolis. It's not all history, though. There are going to be plenty of rides for thrill-seeking families to enjoy.

Along with the theme park is what the press release says will be the largest campground in the central U.S. It's 320 acres. There are 750 RV spaces and 300 cabins. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around.

Oklahoma's New Theme Park Hoping To Open In 2026

Supposedly, it should be open in 2026. It's going to be insanely big. There's a hotel and resort as well that boasts an indoor waterpark. It all sounds pretty tempting.

That's likely due to the fact that the minds behind the whole thing are not strangers to theme parks and family entertainment. Several of the individuals involved have experience with Disney and Branson. Those are two names that are very famous for family-style entertainment.

It will be interesting to see what happens when American Heartland finally opens up in the Sooner State. It sounds promising, and it does sound like something a lot of people would travel for. There's the theme park with the rides, the massive campground, the hotel, and an indoor water park.

Guess we'll have to wait and see for just over two years to find out.
