I've written about Amarillo Social Club a lot in the past. I've gone on a few occasions, and even won a tournament. The club has a special place in my heart. I was heart broken, and infuriated, when I saw the news.

Someone robbed Amarillo Social Club, and needs to be brought to justice.

Armed Robbery At Amarillo Social Club

According to reports, and Amarillo Social Club's social media post regarding the robbery, a person went into the club, produced a note demanding money, and had a gun pointed at the employee.

The employee cooperated, and the suspect left. This all happened just after 11 PM Sunday night.

On the Amarillo Club's social media post regarding the robbery, two other people were involved; a person in the backseat and the driver.

Fortunately, no one got hurt. A reward is being offered for information. If you know anything, you're encouraged to contact either APD or Amarillo Social Club.

Fingers Crossed For Justice

The thing about this that angers me the most, is the years of hard work and uncertainty that went into just being able to open the doors of Amarillo Social Club. Opening Amarillo's poker room was no small feat. There were a lot of obstacles, and plenty of times it looked like it wouldn't happen at all.

Then, miraculously, the City allowed it to happen.

I played that opening weekend. It was, and still is by the way, fantastic. The atmosphere is great. The crew does everything they can to take care of club members.

They've grown. There are ladies nights now, and opportunities to learn the game without putting too much skin in the game. They have a constant stream of tournaments.

There's even opportunities for you to win your way to the Main Event. Our little club is doing big things.

If you have any info, reach out to authorities or the club.

Amarillo On 'America's Most Wanted'

I was surprised to find out recently that we also have a bit of a history with the show America's Most Wanted.

Digging through old news articles, I found several separate occasions where Amarillo and America's Most Wanted crossed paths. It makes me wonder if there are some that I've missed.
