Lubbock, oh Lubbock, you are a good city, you do have good things. You have Buddy Holly, Texas Tech, and you have a Top Golf, but seriously, you really don't want to be known for this, particular thing.
You don't want to be known as Syphilis City, and at the rate you are going, that is exactly what you are going to be called. I mean it already has its own nickname, "Raider Rash".
Syphilis cases in Lubbock have risen 300%. That's 300%! Good grief, what in the heck are y'all doing in Lubbock. Tinder, Bumble, POF, must be on fire, literally.

Don't have sex.
Use a condom, and even then you aren't 100% protected.

What are the symptoms of Syphilis?
You may notice a sore, and as it progresses you may notice rashes and sores on your mouth, or private areas (you know what I'm talking about). Other symptoms include fever, swollen glands, sore throat, fatigue, and muscle aches.
If not treated, it could eventually spread to your brain and nervous system, eyes, ears.
Oh and if you are pregnant, you can pass Syphilis on to your unborn child.
How to I know if I have Syphilis?
Visit your health care provider and get tested. If you do have Syphilis, it can be treated with antibiotics. If you don't have insurance, you can visit your local Planned Parenthood, or a different health clinic, testing and treatment are usually affordable at these facilities.
Not only have their Syphilis rates increased, they rank #60 in the nation for STDs. Yes, you read that right 60. In the nation.
I know this isn't the greatest news because, well, ewww, but it's something to be concerned about. Now if you're here in Amarillo, you might want to take extra precautions if your dating world extends into the Lubbock area.
