Spice Up Dinner with this Quick and Easy Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta
If you're looking for a quick and easy dinner that's a little different, then you'll love this meal.
I have been trying to spice up our evening meals instead of the same 'ol, same 'ol. I always keep an eye on social media and things my friends are posting that they have made for dinner.
I came across a quick and easy recipe, that I thought I would try and "oh my gosh," it turned out to be delicious and it is now on my list of regular meals.
So what is it? Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta
You've been to restaurants and they have the Bang Bang Shrimp. Aspen Creek comes to mind, and we always get this as an appetizer and it is so good, so when I saw this recipe, I knew I had to make it.
What do you need?
2 lbs of Shrimp
12 oz of Angel Hair Pasta
Bottle of Sweet Chili Sauce
Paprika
5 Cloves of Minced Garlic
Mayo
Lime Juice
Salt and Pepper
Chili Pepper Flakes
Coconut Oil (or other oil, but I like coconut oil)
How to Make It
Boil your pasta
I would only used half a package of pasta. I cooked the whole package like it called for but it was way too much. 1/2 package would have been perfect. Cook, drain and set aside.
Make the sauce
In a bowl mix 1/2 cup mayo, 1/2 cup of sweet chili sauce (I love this sauce so I used 3/4 of a bottle), 2 cloves of minced garlic, 2 T of Lime juice, 1/8 t chili flakes. Mix all together and set aside.
Prepare your shrimp
We used raw medium shrimp, but you could use pre-cooked, they will just heat up quicker. I used 2lbs of shrimp, but the original called for 1 1/2 lbs, but the more shrimp the merrier.
Place your shrimp in a bowl, with two tablespoons of paprika and three cloves of minced garlic, salt and pepper to taste.
Over medium heat melt 1 T of Coconut Oil
Place shrimp in pan, if using raw shrimp cook until pink, if you are using pre-cooked shrimp, heat until warm.
One shrimp is cooked, pour sauce in pan with shrimp and stir until warm. Toss in pasta and make sure it's covered in sauce. Sprinkle about 1 T of parsley over the dish, and plate.
Enjoy
We heated up some crusty bread to enjoy with the dish.
This was a great dish and my picky teenager even enjoyed it and he doesn't like seafood.
Over all it took me about 30 minutes to make from start to finish.
