This year has seen a lot of new businesses open in Amarillo, Texas. If it isn't a new business, it's an established business expanding.

On SW 34th, there's what used to be a small collection of shops that is currently undergoing a crazy amount of construction. What used to be several storefronts is being completely changed from the inside out.

From Barbers to Boba: The Site’s History

Next to Hobby Lobby and Walgreens, there used to be a little spot that had everything from a dog groomer to a very unique restaurant. You could even get a health shake and a haircut.

Over time, one by one, those little shops closed up for the most part. What didn't close eventually moved to other places in Amarillo. Then construction began.

What’s Being Torn Down on SW 34th?

As of now, the building is fenced off, and it looks like the entire building is getting a remodel. A crew is there ripping things up and clearing it out.

There have been a lot of rumors regarding what's going to be in this location, which used to house barbers, dog groomers, and a place to get boba tea with a variety of crepes. Whatever it's going to be, it's going to be pretty big.

It looks like they're working on converting the several spaces into one. Whatever is going in at this location is going to be pretty big.

Hopefully, the construction won't take very long. I work close to this building, and it's been going through these renovations for what seems like forever. My coworkers and I have spent a lot of time talking about what could possibly be going in next door.
