My daughter surprised me over the weekend and drove to Amarillo to see me for Mother’s Day. I was not expecting this at all. When she comes to town I like to take her grocery shopping so she has new recipes and plenty of meals when she goes home.
I have lived in Amarillo for a big portion of my life. I know how construction can be. It seems it is never over. It’s part of life that we jus have to deal with. Once it is done then in a certain area it gets better but while it is going on it can seem just the longest.
I love to cook. It's actually one activity that I really enjoy. I especially love learning about new foods and combinations. There is not a whole lot of foods that I do not like. I also like to find new dishes that are healthy.
What a difference a year makes. Remember back in the day when really it was only Michael Jackson and his family wearing a mask? We never really thought that was going to be our future. Oh and then the year 2020 came to be.
I left the radio station yesterday and had to make a stop at Walgreens on Georgia to pick up a prescription. I looked at my gas gage and saw I had 130 miles until empty. Since I would be right by Market Street I would stop and get gas. Why not?
We are looking for any possible way in 2020 to help us out. Maybe we are looking to lose weight. Maybe we really need to find a way to make a little extra money. Maybe our biggest issue is stress. This year has brought a lot of hurdles our way.
So as I left the radio station on Friday I told Braden I had to go to United. I haven’t been to Market Street since the end of August. I was out of well everything. Besides my daughter was coming to town this week. I had plenty of food for me but she needed healthy snacks. So off to the store…
Have you found yourself being over OCD? I mean making sure not to get any germs. Are you even finding yourself over thinking it all. I know I have. I am thinking a lot more about it. I have always been a massive hand washer but it goes beyond that.
So, I have a few reasons to get back on my eating healthy regimen. One being that my blood pressure a few weeks ago was at stroke level. I am not even kidding here. I was at 190/102 yeah not good. Oh and the other is to not die. I want to be able to just feel better.
I feel like I am a constant fixture at two places near my house. I live at Market Street United and the Walgreens on Georgia. Those are my go-to places. Just stopping at those two places can get me anything I need for the week.
