The Simple Answer Is "It Depends"...

The trash in Amarillo has been a hot topic for quite some time. First, we lost a lot of our dumpsters in different areas. Those magically turned into trash cans we got to roll into the front of our homes on trash day.

It's been a while since our dumpsters started getting emptied just once a week. An employee shortage caused this mess in the first place.

So here we are in the middle of this mess that we call the dumpster schedule change. I mean since we went from two days of having our dumpsters emptied per week to just once.

So where I live we luckily still have dumpsters in the alley. We haven't, luckily, switched to those stupid plastic garbage cans like some neighborhoods. I am dreading when that becomes a thing.

I knew politics were shady...but THIS shady?

Woah it's crazy to think and to see how much trash we accumulate. Walk down any alley in Amarillo or drive down any street on trash day. You know what I am talking about. Now imagine a lot of that trash blowing on the streets of Amarillo.

National Cleanup Day is Saturday (9/18) and the City of Amarillo is planning on doing its part to help.

There are times that you see something in Amarillo. Sometimes it is something in your own back yard so to speak. You want to notify someone. The problem is you don't know who to call. You don't want to be on this endless "please hold" while they transfer you to someone else.

It's been a few months since the alley behind my house became a war zone. It frustrated me that for whatever reason everyone was dumping their stuff behind my fence.

I don't know who you are. I don't even know if you live in my neighborhood but for all that is good and holy Stop Doing This.

My kids in kindergarten and first grade know that trash belongs in a trashcan. Surely you can keep up with a 6-year-old and a 7-year-old.
